English doesn't have pronounciation rules, but German does.
So it is easy. PHP, GIF, DVD, only one version exists around here.

Honestly, I pronounce it, "G-I-F," individually. I suppose if I had to pronounce it as a non-acronym, I'd pronounce it, "gif"t.

I say it like the 'gif' in "gift".

This is just so funny I can't help myself and after six pages I am surprised no-one pulled the poetic license card which is what I love to do, especially for typos...

Poetic license is a beautiful thing, make up your own words and pronounce them however you want. Misspell words to acclimate them to a more modern version of usage. Combine many different words to make one brand new one and say it how you want...

"Umm.. Snoop? Man I hate to tell you this but umm... It's FOR SURE not FASHIZZLE.."

From now on i say we should all go by this list of pronunciations:

gif = Jai EHff

png = PONG!

jpg/jpeg = Gopp Egg

mp3 = Mopp the third

wav = WAhhh Vee

ram = Rawww Mmmm

mIRC = My Errss

php = Pop! (the 'H' is silent and the 'O' is invisble)

Unacronymed words:

Broadband = BeeeDeeeBeee

Dial-Up = lame

Linux = (Linux will no longer be a word and is now the long lost cousin of Linus the little piano player from peanuts, thus making it a proper name.)

Windows = (Windows will now be changed to 'doors' in attempt to circumvent any confusion caused by people pointing to that thing behind the curtains in a vain attempt to show off their new version of windows. Doors will then be forced to be removed from existence to be replaced by wormholes.)

Mouse = (Mouse will become bug so people stop making horrible Jai EHff's of cute little mice looking like what was once called a mouse.)

Mouse Pad = (This will now be known as 'Nests')
