Need help making gold text

Hey,

I need help making clean and proffesional looking gold text. Somthing like a chrome text look but gold. I tried doing it but it doesn't look right. Anyone have a tutorial or show me how to make it?

Heres what i made and didn't come out right. ( too much black)

I have a tutorial on how to make chrome text which can be easily converted into gold - all you have to do is use the Colorize option (Colors menu) after you've finished creating the text.

Btw, on the tutorial you don't need to use the exact same settings as I do when working with Curves.

You should experiment more with Curves, they are really the best way to get a better metallic look with fonts.

You could also try searching for tutorials at www.pspiz.net and at www.pluspsp.com. The database of both sites is huge

I find that once you achive the chrome effect (and there are many tuts onit on the net) if you make another layer, use the magic wand to select your lettering (select outside of the lettering, then invert) then go back to your new layer, take the airbrush, choose a gold color, set your layer transparency to something between 25 and 50 (depending on how gold you want it) and spray it. after that, merge your layers and there you have it. If I get some time today, I'll edit this post and leave you an example and a link to a really good chrome tut.
