Photoshop Keeps messing up, resetting, and crashes all the time. I've reinstalled it and it still does it!!
Well its bound to happen to you atleast once, but there is a simple solution to this. Reinstalling photoshop doesn't even work some times. 90% of the time the problem can be corrected by deleting your photoshop prefrences file which is located on my pc(Win XP) at: C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings
Once you delete the file, restart photoshop. Photoshop will search for the pref file and if it can not be located it will create a new one.
**NOTE**
You can also reset your Pref file during PS start up by the following key combo: ALT--CTRL--SHIFT--DELETE (Press and hold this combo while PS is starting). This will result in a pop up menu asking you if you want to reset your prefs, select either 'yes' or 'no'.
**CAUTION** Using this method does not let you save a copy of your old pref file, so use your discretion when doing this.

Proper Category Use
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone here for continuing to be useful and helpful, and for remaining patient with those in need of help even when the question has an obvious answer or is just plain redundant.
With that said, I'd like to simply make a request that is somewhat unrelated to my comments above.
With the growing popularity of Tutorial Forums as a hub for Digital Media related help, more people have begun finding an alternate use for the plethora of information at their fingertips. Yes, that alternate use is as a personal gallery for critiquing images and website layouts.
While I enjoy the fact that people are willingly coming to Tutorial Forums in search of a critique, and showing open mindedness in the process, it has become a nuissance to find that some of these critique requests are being placed in the wrong categories.
The lack of categorical obedience is not really a problem for us Administrators, but more of a problem for you Members. You see, by not placing your work in the proper category, you are limiting the amount of critiquing that your work my receive, and also setting yourself up for a flame or two.
Please keep your critique requests confined to the Image Showoff section of the site, where you will certainly receive positive and useful comments about your work, whatever it may be.
Thank You.
*Note: I am placing this in the Adobe Photoshop forum because that is typically where the critiques are accidentally placed.

How do I make a certain texture?
One of the best ways of achieving a realistic texture or effect is by using reference images/photographs/ or real objects.
Many examples can be found on the web, from books, or simply lying around your house.
Study your reference images and try and understand what makes them look the way they do. Examine the texture, examine the highlights, lowlights and shadowing. Choose a consistant light direction/source and stick with it. All of the above will add to the realism of your work.
As you work on your image, keep the reference material nearby so you can use it for comparisons.

This is some of the basic questions that get asked pretty regularly around here. Although not a huge list but it will definately grow over time as we add more of the common questions and other resources to the list. Feel Free to add anything guys
Or correct my spelling mistakes
