Tentacles in PSP 8

Could somebody convert this tutorial so it can be used in PSP 8?

I tried, using PSp 8's transparent wave tool on the triangle and then pasting as new image and editing the image size so it was long and skinny, but it ended up all jaggy and I couldnt get the 3D effects to turn out right. Please help?
