POSTING GUIDELINES

To ensure you get the best help and to assist our flashers here to answer your flash / multimedia questions, please observe the following guidelines.

1) Before you post, try searching this forum with your questions / keywords, your question may have already been asked by another and answered.
2) If you cannot find any answer, Please structure your question in the following manner to make it easier for anyone of us to tackle the problem. example...

Quote:

Flash version : Flash MX
Platform : Windows
Problem : How do make a animated movieclip following the mouse everywhere using actionscript?
Code : paste actionscript here
Error messages : paste error messages here

If you don't mind, attach your FLA so we can look at it and try our best to figure out what's wrong. Host it somewhere if it's too big to attach. Else just post the code.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

1. Posting Effectively

When asking a question, or giving advice, please use the code tags. They are used by putting [.code][./code] (minus the periods) tags around your code. It will look like this
on (release) {
trace ("here is some easy to read text!");
Please also take the time to give instructions clearly. Punctiation and capital letters and general formatting is ENCOURAGED and appreciated. Please try and talk properly, spelling out your words correctly, and not using MSN talk. For example:
wow........ ppl shldnt tlk lik dis!!!11!!
Also, don't worry if you don't know English well. We'll do our best to help you.

2. Don't Bump Threads

If your question goes unanswered, please do not bump your threads. For the people who don't know what thread bumping is, I'll take the time to explain. TutorialForums topic ordering system is the last post date. So if I were to post a thread, nobody replied, and it went to the second page, i could find that thread, post in it again and then it would be back on the first page. Please refrain for doing this. It is against forum rules, and just not cool Smile

3. Taking Constructive Criticsm

If you come here for help, or for criticsm for a piece, please take that criticism and advice appropriately. We're all here to help, and we try our best. Don't get angry when no one responds or you don't get the answer you want. Being an effective poster and a nice person will make people want to help you more.

4. Finding What You Need

Before posting your flash related question, please check the stickied thread at the top of the forum. You can find it here:http://www.tutorialforums.com/showt...&threadid=71885 If you cannot find what you are looking for in that thread, please do a thorough search of the forum. If you still cannot find the answer to your question, then you should post it.

Also, when looking for fonts, please goto the beginners corner and look through their awesome font stickies.

4. Forum related problems

If you're having problems with any member of this forum, or the forum rules, or anything in general, please send a Private message via TF's message system to a Mentor. We're here to help you, and we'll take care of whatever problem you're having.

Thanks to K3mical for help with the FAQ

Title your threads according to your problem.

Don't use titles such as "I'm a n00b!", "I need help", "Help plz!!", etc.
Instead, briefly describe your problem in the title and give all the other details in the message body.
