Lighting Effect...

Alright, i wanna know how to do those light effect that u see in many work. Not lighting stuff, its like those light that twirl and stuff. I dont know how to explain it. Sorry for my word but its like those sperms. lol. But i think people know what i mean. If u dont, ill see if i can find a banner or a splash that i can show u by someone.

Err I don't know what you mean... There are many different lighting effects used in many artworks so if you could post an example image it would be great.

are you talking about a nebula or starfield effect?
