OMG.......First Of All

UP THE PUNX...

The safety pins using patches is another stereotypical thing, but back in the early years of punk rock that was considered punk.....but now it's just stupid. See Punk means simple music, but too the point, punk all started because people were sick of all the mainstream and complex solos. And i don't know where this whole skinhead punk thing came in, but hey you don't have to act/dress like it to be punk. JUst look at The Business, they have skinheads and some of the craziest shows ever.

People who need a music label to define themselves have issues.

That said, emo is some lame ish. Music is by definition emotional, so coming up with that label for what amounts to soft punk music is pretty elitist and redundant.

I just gota say the true meaning of punk is really lost.. and SLC punk is awsome Grin

I have a cuple friends that lable them selves punk.. they got the paches and all that stuff... but just cus you dress like a "punker" dosent mean your one. Punk is about the music bottem line. And i gota go with what GoM said.. but i too cant stand EmO~ or rap lol

oh oh and de carbas

-its only human natrue for a person to lable them selves and know where they fit in. But i dont think anyone should act or dress a serten way just to be "cool", just be your self you will meat peopel that like you for who you are, not what they think you are.Wink

one of the best lyrics is...

"i don't need a music scene to tell me who i am" - catch 22

listening to whatever you want, whenever you want, no matter what genre it is. that's punk.

"First of all, Rancid sold out."

Does that really matter? Last time I checked they were making MUSIC. Aww, they're making a large profit - boohoo Sad

Same goes with GreenDay. There are a lot of different lifestyles and cultures of the word "punk". I think it's safe to say if you are trying to DEFINE the word punk then you are most likely not 'one'.

I just get bothered by bands like Sum41 and uhh what's that other fruity band.. simple plan(?) because they pose as something they are entirely not.
