I dont know if you can actually "hide" the folder the way you mentioned. I do know that you could password protect the folder. That may work for the now.

i meant the first question.... you replied before i could...

sorry about that...

if you are using cpanel, then you can just go to 'directory protection' and go from there.. its pretty simple with cpanel

certainly you can hide all files in your folder:

If You Are Using cPanel as control panel, do the following:

1- log in to cpanel
2- click on File Manager
3- click on your folder
4- choose Change Permissions
5- check all of Execute Mode, and uncheck all the others Mode

no one can't view your files via http now, you included Grin

If You Are Using others control panel:

Just Log In to FTP and right click on the folder. Choose CHMOD and type 111, Enter. That make all of your files inaccessible via http.

Hope that helps Smile

Kind Regards,
Kenny

DNSPixel is correct, if you want to password protect it use .htaccess / htpasswd which is basically what cpanel / ensim etc will do

Not at all, in fact i would say CPanel is being pushed out of the way mainly by directadmin, i wouldn't think even 50% of servers in alot of datacenters have cpanel.
