the crazy taxing would also make it so kids CANT get the drug. If its twice as expensive as it is now, how cna you explain some of you 9 year olds getting high? That applies to everyone. But the government can't jack the price ridiculously high if they have no control over it. So lets just go blow some more money on a prison system that barely works shall we?

do you have some resources showing that a prison system doesn't work? last time i checked there werent' too many people busting out of prisons.

we don't need an economy and history based on morons use of money. we already have enough as it is.

I am from BC up in Canada and i think we have already decrimanalized marijuana to my knowledge and were working on legalizing it i think..! anyways in my opinion. Yes one joint does have more chemicals and what not then a cigarette BUT BUT do ou smoke a pack of joints a day. i tihnk not.. see my point is tobaccois probly more harmful then marjiunana rendering it less harmfull so all in all BLAH just the modestopinion of a 14 year old.

First off, why don't they tax it? Its not like cigarettes/tobacco that take god knows what chemicals to make. If it was legal people would just grow their own. Growing own = no profit for taxation. Give licenses to grow or illegalize growing? We're back where we started, spending lots of money fighting "illegal pot growers."

If you want to be picky that this isn't a government debate, its a legalization of pot debate, then ok -- this isn't a debate about tobacco and alcohol either. Stop using those two as a fall back for whenever you can't answer. Try "i don't know" instead of "well...alcohol is JUST as bad too!!!!"

The people here are very libratarian, that or you all just want cheaper pot, because yes, it would be cheaper if it was legalized. They could not regulate growth, and import/domestic pot would drastically lower in price as the supply would rise, and the risk of growing/importing plummeted.

I'm not writing the laws, I'm just saying that if pot were legal, there would be more money to use to teach kids NOT TO USE IT. Obviously, again, it being illegal isn't working.

So now I ask you this. Would you rather just let kids get stoned and "be unhealthy" and let it be illegal? I've come up with plenty of solvency on my side of the argument. Lets hear yours.

Another point of solvency. Prisons are slowly getting too crowded. Why should people be jailed for ignorance? Selling to minors is one thing, thats a jail worthy sentence. But using it? How can taht be an offence? Thats like jailing someone for smoking a cigarrette. Making weed legal would make more room in jails for real criminals, and thus improve the budget. There would be more money again to go toward education and the like.

I don't use pot. In fact, I'm against it. I never said anything about making weed cheap. I'm all about jacking the prices up. Sure, some people will grow their own, but how many stoners do you know that is willing to grow their own plants, dry it, and then use it? I'm sure some blood sucking company would jump on that cash crop and produce it en masse. Sure they're still be some people that grow their own. But it won't be so popular once its readily available.

About alcohol and tobacco. Thats an example. Tobacco and marijuana are very similar. I never said exactly the same. But it is a legitimate argument. Prove otehrwise and I'll drop it.

And as i stated before i have done those things before, but have quit. I have only had 2 beers in the last 3 years. (stoped illegal drugs 3 years ago). I know that i didnt get it from my parents or anyone in my family. I know my parents smoke everyonce inawhile but they have never supported it. I started when i was in 8th grade . Got it from some friends at school who got it from the other friends at school and so on. As i stated before i do not support the legalization of mj and think they should get rid of all drugs. But i know there are certian benifits to mj and thats why you can get it medicaly.
