I just find it really funny that because the filming of these new matrix films was wraught with tragic problems (lots of people dying), that fanboys say "hmm.. what a coincidence that it had so many problems.. that means the matrix is real and they're trying to stop it being filmed bleh bleh"

I don't watch movies in the theater ... I think it's a waste of money, and I am short and some tall person always sits in front of me.

anyways .... all the hype surrounding movies these days is quite related to what we are learning and doing in/with this forum. Graphic arts ... special effects ... computers ..... that sorta stuff. I'm kinda surprised that the people on here who are very good artists and renderers aren't more into it.

I personally though, don't really care for those types of movies ... I'm more of a documentary, comedy, drama watching girl.

I look forward to seeing the Matrix Reloaded but its not like "OMG! I must see it today!" I can wait. The thing that makes the Matrix so great is that its a question of life. And a very good at that! With all the Kung Fu action stuff crammed in with it.

haha missomnis, that's funny =P about the tall person in fornt of you.

All the action scenes are pretty bad, any person who knows how to fight and with a good eye can point out SO many wrong manuevers and stuff. I heard from a lot of 3D renderers from shadowness that there was a lot of bad renders in it too.

And I still don't think Keanu reeves can act. =P

I missed half of the Gladiator because some giant sat in front of me. Gladiator was the last movie I "saw" in the theater.

Keanu Reeves can only act like a doofus. The only thing is, is that comes naturally to him .... so technically it isn't really acting

Any movie movie that's makes u think is a good movie, but a good movie doesn't necessarily makes u think.

The Matrix is one which has a solid story behind it, reality, hackerism, life, computers. Sitting in the cinema, relaxing and thinking, it gives one the chance of thinking, something which I'm too busy to do with all the work i have. When I watch the movie, listen to the words of the chracters, I get inspired, not the kind "wow that's cool", but the deep emotional effects it has on my mind.
If u like to think, like graphics, 3D, effects, anime, black color, etc... u'll like the matrix.
It's not the regular action movie where a bad guy appears from outer space and then a good guy comes and beat him and takes the girl... it's more of a reflection of real life. If u have watched the animatrix and understood the history of the matrix, the real demons are humans. Humans created robots as slaves, the robots grew and progressed, became intelligent and won the earth. what they are doing now is just taking revenge, showing us the ugly side of the human race, just like when u mistreat a dog too much, men's best friend will become men's worst enemy.
There's alot of thought evoking ideas in the story, not just 3d action and kungfu, try to feel and think and you will see why people are enjoying it.

I do not like these 'action' movies. The only movies I watch either teach my something that I will never use, but will help me get into a good college (the discovery channel), A movie with a good storyline (I am picky! only movies I like are pi, 12 monkeys, a beutiful mind), or anime (I am a big fan of anime, you name it...I've seen it, or I will)

There are much easier ways to make money, much more confident and secure ways...You should not rely yourself on creating a storyline.

The Matrix was a ground breaking movie. I mean look how much 'bullet time' has been copied in films. The special effects in the first one were top notch and that was back in 1999. The Matrix Reloaded (which I am seeing on wednesday, the days its released in the uk) arrived four years after the first one so basically the effects will be loads better and thats the reason for people wetting themselves over it. Also the wachowski brothers (think thats the spelling) are great also they people know they are seeing a quality movie.

Remember I didn't say the effects and whatnot were bad. I understand that there were ground breaking effects and if you've never seen anything outside of an action movie then yes the story line was more thought provoking than anything you could have expected. Like they really concentrated on the story anyway when they have people in leather clothes shooting at each other.

I think I'm just really sick of all of these bland action movies. Actually most movies released into theatres I'm sick of. Most things i can't get that excited over...Also I didn't say that people absolutely CAN'T or SHOULDN'T be excited about this or anything else...I'm just curious why is all...jeez
