Goal was to look like a brush painting

The goal was to make this look like it was brush painted. It is 100% photoshop and various filters.

there is to many details to make it look painted (for instance the sand and rust.)
it must have taken a while to do.Grin I love the waves and the sand up against things.
Did you do it over a photo? Because its very hard to do that kind of thing without someting to relate to.Smile
The only thing is the perspective of the house (on the left) is a bit off, either that or the left-most post needs to be moved to the left a bit more.
Good work m8:D:D

Very nice and you can see the effort thats gone into it. I do agree with sumopiggy (gr8 nick btw Shocked) about the left-most support post, it looks like it should be directly under the corner of the hut - as all the others. I also think that there are a few too many straight lines which look too perfect for a hand painting. The hut looks almost like a 3D model! But my great job though and the sea really does look hand painted. Smile

I think the sky and sea are really nice, dark and brooding. Then, however, you look at the beach and hut and they're unbalancingly bright in comparison. It seems that if the sun is in that strange 'low cast' position, then it would be striking the sea as well, or possibly breaking through the clouds over the sea.

It feels quite noisy [in the filter sense] to look at, and I definitely would have pegged it as a modified 3d render if you hadn't told us otherwise.

Nice piece of work though, in my opinion.

It was all done freehand, I was making my home away from home. The original looks better, but I had to reduce the file size to upload it into this forum.

The clouds are from using the Cloud filter in photoshop. I live close to the pacific coast in Washingto State. I think this has to be the only state that has more days when it will rain and sunny at the same time. Kinda retarded. You will be amazed by how often over the sea will be dark a broody and the sand is sunny.

Anyway, awesome picture, like sumo said it looks a bit too detailed and perfect to be hadn painted, but it's still amazing for all PS

wooooow i had to double read your post about it being all in PS because that house looks so 3d render to me! and like GigaFare said eheh if you could can you try and explain how you did it. Also as everyone has been saying the ocean/sky looks great and hand painted, but the house needs to be smudged or blurred or something thats waaay to specific.
