Ok cool, so far I've got these things:

1) Try a dark grey instead of black bg.
2) Need to spruce up the content area, more appealing in there (I was pretty sure this would come up anyways)
3) Graphi"X" .. hmm ok probably right. Though Im not a freelancer, this is only a portfolio site to show off what I can do, till Im done school of course.
4) I will work on the metal and "chrome" parts and try and spice that up a bit .. I can see why it might be a bit boring ...
5) Fix drop shadow ...
6) Fix bottom indented logo to make it clearer to read ...

Ok guys I will get on this as soon as I can. Thanks and keep em coming. Smile Yes even you Shokka Tongue

Hows this ?

1) Drop Shadow fixed, at 120 degree angle now. Was at 90 before I believe.
2) Dark grey bg, #333333
3) Bottom logo added an inner shadow to darken the text, better?

Just that for now, simple stuff to fix.

naww mostly Im doing it just for myself right now, I take on the occasional project though, as you'd notice in my portfolio for others, but I'm mostly just building for use in school Smile In the future though when I get good at it and worthy of making money doing it, then I will Smile I'll be doing more than just web designing though.

Why make it standards compliant if you're so picky on browsers and screen resolutions? It's like washing your car right before you have a mud race. Makes no point. You're ending up isolation a very large amount of visitors between Mozilla/Netscape users and 800x600 users. (I HATE horizontal scrolling.)

It's a pretty good design, very clean, I just can't see the edges of it. Also, http://www.ramsaygraphix.com/xmedia/interface_14.gif doesn't line up perfectly with the header and footer. I don't see the point in the barcode in the bottom really either.

I give it a three based on those points, good design but not so good execution.

Well that is one thing Im trying to figure out, why if its completely standards compliant ( it is I've validated every single page ) why Netscape and Mozilla cant use it, thats not my fault its a browser problem. No that doesnt mean I dont care about the netscape/mozilla crowd but I've searched around for answers to this and I've found nothing. Netscape IS SUPPOSED to be standards compliant so says some articles I've read ... yet IE and Opera are the only ones that work. IF someone could tell me what I need to do to fix this then I'm more than willing to try it.

-- Also I meant to say that as far as the res goes, as indicated on my splash page, the site is made for 1024x768. Not for 800x600 Smile

Hmm ... odd .. didnt work last time I checked ...

Tried the site again just now with Mozilla 1.2.1 and Netscape 7.01, and for the most part you're right, it does work. How odd. I still see some positioning problem with it, but it seems to work for the most part. Thanks for pointing that out Huscy, I shall now remove the notice for Netscape/Mozilla users. Smile

grump, thanks Grin It's based off of Nickki's sig, same idea as hers so she gets the credit, but my own percentages and content Wink
