RamsayGraphiX.com v4: Evolution
Finally after nearly two months of work, it's open. Please review, criticize me all you want.
A few things to keep in mind:
Validated Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for a far more organized and efficient method of presenting font styles. I haven't gotten to CSS layouts yet however, I'm saving that for v5
All pages are validated against the XHTML Transitional 1.0 DTD as set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), you can try validating any of my pages if you like with the official W3C Validator, found at: http://validator.w3.org/, and just enter the URL of any particular page from RamsayGraphiX.com you want to try validating, except for the forums of course. You can also validate for CSS from that resulting page you will see.
More graphically-appealing design, "Mechanistic Interface" style.
Integration with our own forum (which includes our very own custom skin, though not opened just yet at the bottom of each page, you can login after having registered already, and this site will remember your member details every time you visit. You can also view forum statistics just below that.
Extra page navigation controls, found at the top center of any page, you'll see 3 buttons just below the fading v4 logo. If you try them out you'll notice that the first one navigates back to the last page you were viewing, the middle one will reload the current page, and the last one navigates to the next page that you viewed last before hitting "Back". Not particularly important but its handy and looks cool.
New updated Portfolio with new material in it, including the new v4: Evolution and others.
More detailed pages in the Profile section, formerly known as the About section.
The Contact section largely remains the same, except for a new Affiliates Request Form I have created for just that purpose. I have cleaned out most of the previous Affiliates I had before, for various reasons. If you are interested in affiliating with RamsayGraphiX.com, please see that page, but also read the rules about it first. I won't accept any requests if they don't comply with the rules I laid out now.
Let's hear your comments please, and please tell me if you find any bugs! Thanks!

4...
5 for coding... anyone who codes to validator specs deserves a pat on the back in my books... if only everyone was so meticulous...
3 for design however... honestly think the design needs some serious work... the banner at the top is empty space... doesn't serve much purpose and the inclusion of back/refresh/forward while a neat coding trick i suppose (not really in my opinion but some people think its cool) serves no benefit to people visiting... the only time a script like that should be used is a much more carefully coded script inside actionscript for flash sites... i think you need to touch up the nav as well the shading obscures the text making it less clean... finally the content pages are just plain boring... while the nav and frame has obviously had time put in on it... and the content is solid enough... its just plain and has no elements of design/graphics/typography to grab attention... basically the focus of the site is on the nav when it should be on the content...
so... 4... the coding is great... but it still needs substantial work... best of luck bud...
Regards,
Owen

Thanks Darth, grump I appreciate those comments, I'll keep that in mind. I plan continuous work on it however ... I will keep your suggestions in mind for the content. The back/refresh/forward was really only meant as an extra as you can probably tell, I didnt really mean it for ppl to use much, it was to kinda "fill in" the empty space.
What did you mean though by the top banner ? The fading logo you mean ? I didnt really follow that ...
Thanks guys, please keep the comments coming, this is by far my best version yet and I would like to learn what to do to keep it getting better.

ok, keep in mind i like it, and am on hyper-critical mode because its good, here are some points
1) the stroke around the top of the interface is too prominently jagged
2) i dont like the idea of a drop shadow on both sides, although it might look lopsided if u hadnt done that
3) the high contrast between the two bars where your links are makes it somewhat annoying to read
4) i think your light bevel (the white shading, above the content area, and the lower links bar) is too long
5) Black and white are VERY contrasting, which is good for readability, but generally better when its black text on a white background, not the other way round, maybe you could try making the content area background either a dark or light shade of grey, then the text the opposite (ie. dark grey bg and white text or light grey bg and black text)
6) at the bottom, you can hardly read the v4:evolution
but well done, im being picky

let's see where to begin, bare with me i might pick somethings apart.
-overall, this layout receives a 5 because now only is it more rarer to see structure like this than to see regular navigation on the left and banner on the top, but it also has neat, well-done, realistic art.
-graphics, the graphics done on the page is worth a 4.5. that is because this design that you have looks as if it is some advanced gadget, a real one too. each graphic is sharp, and well created. the only thing is that some of the bevels look a little cheesy, and the design feels like it is missing that certain something, i can't exactly state it though.
-color scheme, i give you a 5 for the choice of colors. although white is a common background color for websites that are very arty, you make it look good by making the content area black. your links and hovers are also colored with great choices (blue > teal). that is probably one of the best positive on your site.
this site is good, it ain't perfect, but it is attractive, and will make a viewer have that split-second shock.

It would be sooo much better without a black content area.. maybe a grey or a grey-blue....
the black and white is too much contrast for me.

I give it a 2 (I accidentally hit 1 ) This is only because this is where it stands graphically in the wide range of sites I have seen.
It is not bad, Its just based on what I've seen and how much it stands out and 'speaks' to me.
Its coded good, but I find the layout to be really drab, It doesnt catch my eye and make me say
"ooo wow, I wonder how he did that"
The 'chrome' parts in the nav seem overdone, almost filterish (not that I'm sayin filters are bad, I'd just expect better from you)
It just seems kind of plain, maybe a header image or something for v5?
-Glen
-[edit]-
Kinda seems cheesy how all over the site you always refer to 'digital graphiX' I know it goes with the name, but If I were a company in search of a freelancer and came across 'graphiX' everywhere, I would change my mind.
And emo is right about the contrast..
Fly, lots of sites have the header at the top with hte links below them
