Laptop cant support HighRes?

Hey,
I just bought myself what I thought was a good used laptop off someone and when I change the resolution higher so the stuff gets smaller the damm thing goes dim. Its not the brightness nor the contrast because i tried both of that. Any Idea?

well normally stuff gets smaller. the dimeness might mean you need to play with your color settings. and adjust teh gamma.

it's in the same thing where you adjust res. just to the left, goto 32 bit mode.. and gamma i belive is adjustable on your monitor which varries from labtop to labtop.

or maybe some faulty connection.
i don't really think trying to reapair a laptop by yourself is a good idea all those small parts and clips.

are you sure the CRT moniter supports the high res of the laptop TFT? and check the manufacturer, it could be a faulty laptop.

also what res are you trying to achieve and with what size TFT (inches). a 14" moniter will get 1280x1024 and a 15" maybe 1600x1200.

The highest I can get my laptops is 1024. The screens usually have a limit, which is much lower that the big-assed monitors.
