i have a similar dilemma actually, in html how do u do that? and also make it more animated not just 2 pics..
and id like to know how to do that in flash also....
heres a post i made abotu 10 mins ago in a diff forum then i realized it was the wrong forum so i came here :
umm in flash, how do u make a button with more than up over and down
what if when i hover over it i want it to umm.. flash white then the original color then white again really quick
and can anyone show me a site that can almost compare with 2advanced.com?

blobb: you mean in flash? if so it's easy, create a button, edit the button, in the 'up' state place your first image, in the 'over' state place the second one.
pyro:
all you need to do is place a movie-clip of what you want in the 'over' state of your button. so if you want it to flash continuously while hovering it will be a clip with first frame white second frame original colour. if you want exactly as you described, add a third frame in white and place a stop(); action on this frame.
