OK will you guys please tell me how good the below stuff i just ordered is for the new comp im building?
1) MOBO and PROC.... AMD Athlon XP 1500+, 266MHz Socket A, w/Fan and CPU. MS-6341 K7 MASTER , 5PCI/1AGP/1CNRSlots, RETAIL BOX 1YR WARRANTY, AMD 761 Chipset DDR ATX
2)HARDRIVE... western digital 20 gig 7200 rmp.
3)Monitor... 17 inch envision flat screen
4) SPeakers... altec 221's
5) and top of the line bluetooth keyboard mouse ect...
6) Nvidia geforce 2 mx 400 64 megabite

don't buy western digital. everyone that i talk to about it said their wd hard drive failed after a few years. not just their one wd hdd's, but all their western digital hdd's did that.
i've owned 4 maxtor hdds, and they all still work just as good as they did the day i bought them. ibm hdds are good, they make very good high end hdds. i haven't heard much on seagate.

My WD HDD is the best, ive had absolutly no problems with it, and ive never heard any1 say that they are bad either, well part from when i read ur post

I think maybe I would have gave up the flat screen monitor and used the money for a better CPU.
As far has HD's go, I'v had a WD and had no problems with it, I've also had maxtor and didn't like it to much,
Right now I have two Seagates in my sys and seem to have no probs at all.

i think WD is just too over rated. they might not have problems with them very often, but i think they lack in a few areas compared to a lot of others. then there able to sell for dirt cheap sometimes, thats why so many computers and people choose them.

That system is ok for the moderate gamer.. and I have used nothing but Western Digital HD and only one problem and they replaced it for me fast
