I would recommend to go through the Friends of Ed series....Foundation Flash, Foundation Actionscript, Flash 5 Studio and so on. There are more books. They really tell you the ins and outs. I would really recommend these books for any real developer. Usually I get one, then experiment for a month, then get another, and repeat the process. Hope this helps. Goto www.friendsofed.com to see a listing of their books.

i have the flash 4 and 5 bible and if i had to buy them again,i wouldnt...i think it gets too technical and they try to sound sophisticated to sell their books. i have bought the friends of ed foundation actionscript and it is very good, very well written and easy to read and very straightfoward. it has you building a flash website that you can actually use. i definitley reccomend friends of ed books.

There are many books out there...however, the question is 'what do you need?'...If you are interested in serious flash work, actionscripting is a must! Colin Moock's book, "Actionscript, the definite guide" put out by O'reily press is the best actionscript book I have ever seen. With it as a reference there will be nothing you will not be able to understand or achieve with actionscript. However, if you are looking for a quick A-B-C 1-2-3 guide to building a flash website...this is not the book for you...good luck:o
