Domain and hosting

Hello,
I have a site on tripod and i think its about time to move it. I was woundering what do i have to do to get a domain, hosting, everything. Could some please explain to me the process and the price range for all of that stuff.

Once you get your domain you will need to find a host. These price between $5-$50 depending on what you need. However you will normall spend $25 a month for a good host. Find a host. Once you signed up with your host they will give you a name server to point your domain to. When they give it to you go back to the place where you got the domain from and put in the name server. That is pretty much all you have to do.

http://www.powweb.com has a really good deal. i was thinking about going to them. it's $30 to register a .com address for two years and $7.77 a month for 100 mb , 12 gigs transfer, cgi-bin, web based email, 50 pop3, 100 forwarding, ssl, mysql, php, and 99% uptime. sounds like a good deal to me.

Here is the step by step guide..

1) Go to a Domain Registration Website like Register.com though I recommend Dotster .

2). Once you have registered a domain name.. its time for you to search for a Hosting Company.. So you may start searching for one at Host Index or Web Hosters or may be any other website.

3). Select your hosting plan and then pay for it.. I recommend paying for only 1 Month if the Monthly price of the hosting plan is more than US$10.. after you have paid you would be sent the account information along with the details on how to operate, upload and etc your website..

4). Change your Domain Name servers so that they point towards the Hosting Company's name servers..

There you go.. Now you have your Online Presence..
