Looking for GOOD host

Yes I know there was a sticky post of free hosts, but I've looked at them all, and so far none have helped. My previous host, Portland Communications, turned out to be not as good as you may read in my post. These last two weeks alone I have suffered 5 days of downtime, and their tech support isn't replying to my emails. So now I am back looking for a host. Please anyone if you do reply to this post with a good host, and I decide to take it, I will credit you on the site. First off, I am looking for a free host, if possible-I do not think I am ready yet to pay for hosting. Now for the rest of my specs:

Space-50 megs minimum, although less is ok if there are other better features.

Bandwidth-I am hoping for around a gig of transfer a month, although something around 500-700 megs will work.

Server Requirements-PHP, atleast 1 mySQL database (more would be better), CGI/PERL, cpanel or Plesk control panel.

Ads-NONE if possible, but if any, banner ads are preferred.

Cost-FREE is possible, if it comes down to that I have to pay for hosting, I would be looking for billed payements, and a cost of around $5 a month.

Darth Pingu-If you would like to move this or lock it, I don't care, but I think if people can come up with ideas it could help others looking for hosting

Pay for hosting

Who in their right mind is gonna be able to run servers for absolutely free and give decent support ... umm no-one

Yeah, it is tough to find a free host that has support. Normally with a free host, you get the amount of support as what you pay to them...

As for cheap hosts, there are plenty around these forums, you should check them out. I am sure here in a few someone will annoyingly post thier plans for you.

bah............I never thought it would come to this, but I guess I better start saving up the cash For now I will probably be hosted under madsims for the temporary, they're pretty good except that they have banner ads. Oxy-what host doyou use for your sites?

Come by PhantasyWorksHosting.com and check out our Starter package for around 7 a month. Its 4 gigs of bandwidth and 200 megs of space.

Search this forum for a couple of post by a guy named AhmedF he offers some free hosting in exchange for a small banner on your site (I know you don't want banners but it's prob the best that you'll be able to do). I know he has it posted in his sig too so if you just find any post from him you should be doing fine. Unfortunately he's on a lil vacation for about another 20 days I think??? Anywho, give that a whirl. I know there's others still running the hosting they just don't frequent this board as much as AhmedF does.
