What happened to this site?
I used to visit this site when it was Tutorial Forums. I actually was a Super Moderator at one point. I just came back to check it out and it has WAY less activity than it used to. What happened? Is AbsoluteCross still around? Did anyone ever find Robouk (he just kind of disappeared at one point)? Robouk had amazing skill, and his tutorials got me into Photoshop in the first place. Any really old folk from around here remember me?

I remember you. There's a ton of threads on why/how this place ended up dead as of late posted previously; that's probably why nobody is replying. Or nobody cares anymore. Or something. Your questions are mostly answered in them.
Oh, and reminiscing is for the weak.

Why was Locke given power anyway, did he know AbsoluteCross? I was on TF for ages before I even saw Locke, and all of a sudden he was thrown to the top of the ranks and given complete power over the site. I never liked him and it was part of the reason I left this place. I still am very curious how and why he was promoted to such a position. It appears he hasn't signed in here for almost six months. I saw AbsoluteCross posting though, when I spoke with him he was a good guy, not sure if he remembers me though.

Oh yes, you and I both see eye to eye Shadow. I never like Locke as well and I couldn't believe how people actually followed his path. Eventually, his path led to this ghost town as you can tell. It was news to me, I was looking for TF one day and it kept bringing me to this website that was NOWHERE near finished or had ANY community involvement like TF did. I don't know why he was EVER given such a powerful influential position , he was to much of a stickler and always broke up a lively threads.
Now that I am in the military in a leadership position, I can see why someone in his position had the mindset that he had. Actually, no. I still think he's an idiot and should have been kicked off TF from the instant he started to get power hungry.

I agree. If AC ever comes in this thread I would love to hear how he came into so much power so quickly. It still upsets me, this was a great site. And I do remember Locke breaking up anything fun, and getting really offended at the slightest jokes.

Locke ended up leaving to work on a whole new ambitious project of his called Audoptic, which as far as I know, after at least a year of development now, if not more, hasn't gotten anywhere.

That isn't surprising to me, it appears that anything that Locke gets involved in/creates winds up going downhill, fast.

What's with all the Locke-hate?
I just don't see how people still blame Locke for what this community is today, it's been long (really long in internet-time) since Locke and a few others parted from the NS staff and the site hasn't evolved ever since. The already slow development the site had came to an absolute halt, and the new version of Neverside appears to be coming along about as well as AO (Audoptic).
As far as I can tell, most (not all, most) people who I see complaining and blaming the so called "death" of TF and later on NS, are people who have had various problems (on a personal level) with Locke. If I were him, I'd feel rather victorious in knowing that the people whom I didn't get along with at all still hang around on this site to spit into the ocean hoping that I one day will wash my face with that very water, and to acknowledge your obvious victory over me.
Give it up, for crying out loud.
