I think Che Guevara could have made communism in Cuba work if he wasn't murdered. Marx had a vision that everyone who came up with some type of government had, "This will be the best system ever, there will be harmony, etc...." I don't think they thought about how greedy people would get if they tried this and how much they would slack if they got paid the same and had to live the same.

This doesn't take into account cars, houses, accessories to living, just the "bare" necessities. Anyone who had owned a business in true communism would then be 'forced' to give it up as to make everyone equal in monetary value(even though it wouldn't work). That alone would cause the whole system to crash because if you worked hard to get where you're at, and everything was suddenly stripped from you, you would not roll over and sit quietly, you'd revolt...simple

In some ways, TRUE communism would work and in other ways, it wouldn't everyone has thie rown view on it and no matter how much you give in support of your view, it won't change anyone's mind...

You say that people who don't favor this idealistic anarchy theory of yours are uneducated on the issue, and that's typical of people who promote a radical concept. It couldn't possibly be that people simply disagree with you - they must be mentally incapacitated! I have studied a great deal on this subject, which why I can say with certainty that no intelligent person will support it. Your statement that humanity will evolve into an anarchial state is completely ignorant. Obviously, man-kind has already lived under anarchy; it failed! Hence the need for a governing body. Your thought that humans will be 'so evolved mentally' at some point is equally as foolish. Basic human nature hasn't changed since Biblical times; a study of science, history, theology, or biology will make that fact clear to you. So you expect us to believe that if you take away accountability and punishment for crimes people are going to behave in a more civilized manner? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I don't know where/what you have studied, but you are in desperate need of education. Radical ideas, promoted by someone who clearly has no real thought, just whimsical fancies, are dangerous. Hopefully, if anarchy one day rules you'll run into Charles Manson in a dark alley.

I think it can be summed up pretty concisely.

A priori, communism is an ideal way to reach equality.

In practice, it doesn't work because human nature gets in the way.

I was just discussing this topic with my family last night. When you start a debate along this topic, you must first accept a few basic truths about humanity (or often the lack thereof). I will state these truths from my perspective as a Christian; but regardless of religious convictions, the end conclusion will be the same for those who are honest with their own thoughts.

First, as humans we are born into the flesh. We naturally desire and lust for "wrong" and "evil" things. A person who desires to do "good" and live the "strait and narrow," regardless of religious convictions, will be faced with hardships and temptations. As a Christian who takes the Bible literally, I believe that the love of money is the root of all evil (this does not in any way mean that money itself is evil).

So let's look at human nature for a brief moment and ponder the above thoughts. As humans, we want to matter. We want to have purpose. We want a legacy. We want to have influence over others. We want to be remembered. We want power. These are the facts of human nature. We must actually work and put forth effort to make these things not so in our own personal lives, and it's not easy.

Now look at communism in light of human nature. What does it do? It strips the individual of their individuality. You're nothing more then a member of the community. You own nothing. Your friends own nothing. You have no friends, because "everyone" is your friend. Everyone owns everything, no one owns anything. An unselected government administers everything, and says its owned by everyone. But no one can have a say-so on anything because everyone has a say-so on everything. So as humans, everyone must surrender everything to the unselected government. This unselected government ends up saying it all. The result? Oppression. Discontentment. Dissatisfaction. Hopelessness. Despair. Hunger. Sickness. Death.

Human nature and communism conflict in every way imaginable. So communism, the ideology that once had the eye of the entire world, has basically destroyed itself. There are nations that still accept it, but it's no longer embraced like it once was. It will die. People know it doesn't work.

But, to my deepest regret, there is another side of the coin. A much more dangerous, functional, and effective ideology that caused the death of more people, in a shorter amount of time, then any other ideology in the history of mankind. I'm talking about fascism. It was adapted from ancient ideology by Mussolini, then adopted and effectively used by Hitler to cause more destruction, more suffering, and more death then any other single method in history. The saddest thing about it is the simple fact that it worked. It embraces human nature, and turns it into an effective weapon. If you've ever listened to Hitler's speeches, you will hear a distinctive appeal to the nature of the human flesh. The individual is no longer a grain of sand on a beach, but a piece of a completed puzzle who contributes himself to the greatness of mankind - a cornerstone if you will; a necessary instrument. Suddenly the individual matters. Suddenly the individual can form a legacy. Suddenly the individual becomes important. The end result is a multitude of people, a willing population, that allows themselves to be manipulated and molded into the perfect tool... A weapon of war.

The Pros and Cons of Communism

Although communism is looked down upon by many other cultures, it is a very just and admirable idea, however, the humanism of their leaders have left communist countries with harsh, demanding, and often unfair tyrants motivated by self gain. The idea behind communism is to establish equality in a united community; however total equality is a matter under much controversy.
For example, Pol Pot, who tyrannized Cambodia from 1976-1979 established that the Cambodian people should dress the same. This was reasonable, because it eliminated fashion disputes and “status flaunting.” However, Pol pot and his regime wore clothing different than that of the peasants, thus entire equality was not achieved.
Secondly, all peasants were forced to labor as farmers, in order to produce their own food. Since most of the people had no experience and were not trained to work on a farm, they were unable to produce enough food to feed their entire community. The leaders of the community took the food produced by the peasants even though they had not worked for it.
In present day china, the one child policy still exists, much to the agony of many parents. This is both practical, and impractical. It is practical because the land can only economically sustain, a certain amount of people, and is currently overpopulated. The policy is impractical because it does not apply to rural families, who are allowed to have two children. Many children who grow up with out siblings become withdrawn, shy and don’t make friends easily. How is it possible to function in a society where no one wants to speak to each other?
In addition, communism teaches that all people are equal; however, in china, men are traditionally favored over women. This has led to the deaths of countless infant females over the years. The New York Chronicle reports that,
“Since there is such a drastic decline in the female to male ratio, an estimated one million men in China will not be able to find wives in the next twenty years, and if the system persists to reject females, China’s population will slowly deteriorate.”
Another example of bad communism is that everyone receives the same pay no matter what the circumstance. If this were to be enforced, no one would be motivated to excel. Let’s say that Jim and Bonnie are working desk jobs side by side, Bonnie begins to slacken in her work, Jim notices and thinks
“Why should I work hard if Bonnie doesn’t, we’ll still get paid the same.” Soon Martha and Claude notice, and begin slacking as well. The end result would be that the whole communist community would be composed of lazy, unmotivated, and ineffective citizens.
Communism is a beautiful conception designed to be a sort of utopia, where all its inhabitants live in harmony with on another. perhaps in a very small community it would be effective, but it obviously isn’t getting positive results currently, ironically it is achieving the opposite of what it was intended. And has destroyed and continues to destroy lives and nations around the world.
