Hi,
Firstly I'd like to say what a smashing forum this is. The admin have really put a lot of effort into making this look good.

Secondly for all u games lovers I've set up an online games site http://www.gamesfridge.com

There's a large library of online flash games for you to enjoy and even some of our own stuff. Any feed back would be kl but mostly just enjoy it

I think you are off to a very good start! but like everyone knows there's always room for improvement: here's some things to look at.

1) Your main banner has too much compression, which makes it look blurry and unprofessional, try to use less compression, or maybe even a different image format since it doesn't involve a whole lot of color.

2) All of your content boxes need some kind of padding to get your text off the walls. CSS padding attribute would be what your looking for.

3) Color scheme: Find and choose a color scheme for your site. Right now it looks like your leaning towards a red and white palette but then your navigation buttons are purple, green, blue... Instead of changing the colors for your buttons try deciding on a style that you like then apply it to all your different links. Also, bevel and emboss??? Don't use just one single layer effect, use multiple ones, coming up with something original and professional, come up with something cool!

Like I said before, you have a great start! Your site structure is great, just remember to be consistent across all your pages and within each page.
