USB ports

I have a problem with the USB ports at the front of my computer - they ruin my flash USB sticks! I've tried a few other USB devices in them and although the ports don't destroy them, they don't work either. As far as I can tell everything is connected up properly. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I maybe wrong but a mate of mine had the same problem with one of the comps at uni and I think it came down to a faulty power supply unit. Am not sure though perhaps someone can correct me if am wrong

Has it ever worked before or is it a rescent problem? If you get the wires mixed up that you plug into your motherboard from your case you can mess around with the voltage to the usb ports which will cause it to destory anything that gets plugged into it.

Too much power is being provided to the USB device, thereby destroying it. Powersupply or your usb hardware.
