Business Card Design
I'm not sure I've posted this in the right spot, if I missed it don't hesitate to move it. I'll try to find it when I come back. So here goes: I've needed a business card for a long time and after I found out that overnightprints.com can ship 100 for about ten dollars (USD) I decided to work up a draft. So last night after the Super Bowl I skipped out on sleeping and stayed up all night to work on this. I'm looking for advice from anyone on their thoughts, comments and criticism; but I'm also looking for advice from resident professionals because this is only the second business card I've designed and I don't want to make any stupid mistakes.

Killer wallpaper/interface/web design, crappy business card. Four different typefaces? too many.
Business cards are an interesting medium because it's the epitome of the simple is better, less is more school of thought. "White space is sexy" is a motto I live by; ALA has a good read expanding on this (lots of illustrative pictures, too). Good logos are difficult to come up with, but they are a great communicative element when you do them right.

Sparky, thanks for the article, I love ALA! I'm going to be redesigning it for now.

I've stayed up most of the night again and here are the results: Business Card Rough Draft Two. Please check it out and let me know what you think, I'm not too happy with the font (the serif) but I'm still asking for advice, ideas, comments and harsh criticism.

It feels empty in the bottom-right corner. Why don't you try expanding the right-side column thing down to the bottom, just kind of chopping it in half and keeping the horizontal curve going like it is? I don't know if that made sense. :\

It didn't but that's okay, I'm ditching that design for now.
I really want this business card to be both a creative expression and a marketing tool. That's the goal and I'm finding that it's a little more difficult than I had originally wanted.
Rough Draft 3
With this update I was able to revert back to the original colors I had wanted (after another late night when I should've been sleeping) and I like this version much more. Once again please feel free to drop your ideas, comments, or to tear it apart with harsh criticism. It's all welcome.

I dig. Put a phone number ont here. I'd ditch the "email" and "web" labels myself, they're self-explanatory. (Only exception would be putting a fax number on there) Looks good dude
