cuttin out and image
hey everybody i am tryin to make a desktop wallpaper out of pics i have taken what i want to do is cut out a person in the pic, just the person is there a way i can do this without having any remains of the background originally in the pic? and once i do this how do i put it on a back ground? thanks in advanced i really appreciate it.

You can use Filter>Extract to highlight the object, then fill it with the bucket. When you're happy with the selection, press OK. Then, grab the eraser tool and rub off any artefacts that are left, and then feather it by just a bit (select>feather). Afterwards, select the selection's inverse (ctrl/cmd+shift+i) and then hit delete.
