Photoshop Tutorial: Smooth Metal

Hello,

Could someone help me regarding photoshop tutorial: Smooth Metal.
I am stopped at the first step when it says to blend the two circles. I made the two grey
circles but I cannot manage to "blend" them.
Can someone be kind enough to help me???
I am French and working in a web agency in Marseille.

First, thank you I got the response.

Did you know that Sparky is the name of a dog, a bull-terrier, in a Tim Burton's short film (I'm found of)?

I have now a problem with the step : Now click the "New Style" button and give your style a name such as "Smooth Metal", then click OK. You should then save your styles by clicking the arrow icon to the left and choosing "Save Styles" from the list.
If I follow these instructions I create twice the new style and for both, it is dark, the grey shade seems not to be included.
