About this so-called "Kiddy Porn"

So, let's say im layin down my game on the internets, alright. So, if she says "I'M 18" does that make it okay for me to have naked pics of her? What if I don't ask how old she is, because her myspace says 18? :X

Er well, i would surmise that even if she says she's 18, You would have to have proof, and if in fact she wasn't 18 and you did have a picture of her it would constitute child pornography and you could get arrested should anyone tell the police on you. Also even if she is past the legal limit if she gives you pictures of her from when she was below it, they would still be illegal. I would play it safe and hold off on the pictures and any sexual/sensual activities until you can verify her age. Hypothetically speaking of course ^.^

This is of course from a States perspective, if you are outside the USA then the laws regarding age of consent and legal age limits might be different.

I'm from the USA. Well, HYPOTHETICALLY, what if I had some pictures on my laptop of the womens, but I didn't know of all their ages[though they all look 18]. My laptop broke, and I have to send the old HD back to compaq, do you think they'd snoop through the files? :x

I do believe that is how Gary Glitter was convicted of Child Pornography. Took his computer back to get it repaired and the techs found Child porn on the HD. XD

Now im not saying by any means that you have 3yr olds on your laptop, if the women look above the age of 18 then i don't believe they would report you, however there would still be a chance the women aren't of age, i personally wouldn't risk the files being viewed by others unless i knew 100% that the women were of age in the pictures. >.>

WOULD THERE BE A WAY OF LIKE CLEARING THE WHOLE HD?
i know they used to say magnets worked, but I hear that doesn't really clear it :[

Well i have heard from a friend or two that http://www.stompsoft.com/drivewasher.html works well, however i have not had personal experience with it so i can't say anything more about it. you could try making a new topic in the tech corner to see if anyone knows of a good way to sanitize your HD.

but, you see, it won't load the OS. according to Compaq, the HD is A FAILURE. So, I can't run an app to clean anything. :X

personally if i had potentially criminal data on a HD, i would take it apart run an earth magnet over everything, set it all on fire. and throw it into the sea. then go buy a new HD. but that's me....XD Hopefully you'll find a better and less costly solution...^.^;;

I don't know, they might though. when i was working at a photo development shack, my fellow coworkers would often rifle through the clients pictures :/ Also what about the case with Gary glitter? the techs notified the police as they repaired his computer, so i wouldn't chance it.
