Creating this effect?

Please look at this logo. Do you know how to create this effect? Possibly a pattern, but notice the tapered gradient effect. Any comments welcomed.

Color Halftone!

Start with a blank white canvas. Use the Ellipse tool to draw a black circle. Apply Gaussian Blur of 5-10px. Then, go Filter -> Pixelate -> Color Halftone.

To match up with that example, put the max radius around 4px. Then for the four channel angles, you can enter ANY number you want, but they must all four be the same (try experimenting with using different angles between the channels, and you'll understand just what the halftone does).

At this point you should have black dots on white background. Invert it/change it's color/whatev. You can also fake it with Filter -> Sketch -> Halftone Pattern.
