HD/DVD vs. BluRay
Well? I've heard both formats are good, my roomate has a PS3 so I can test out BluRay, but I've heard HD/DVD is better for various reasons. What do y'all think is the better of the 2 formats and why? I'm personally just waiting for a dual dvd format DVD player or a DVD player with 2 different slots for each format.

Well that is a hard one to choose at this time. New technologies always have some flaws and distaste towards them when they first come out and only get better over time. They both look good. Only time will tell which one will prevail if any. I think they will both stick around despite the so called 'format wars'
You never mentioned Red-Ray Yes it existed but I think it died in 2005...LOL Not that it matters in the least to your query.
High definition televisions are becoming main stream it seems. My cable company has had HDTV options for quite sometime. Unfortunately I haven't bought a psp3 yet, I'll wait till next summer, so I can't attest to the Blu-Ray format fully but it's looks pretty good and will give HD a run for it's money.
A quote from Wiki:
High-definition optical disc formats: Blu-ray Disc versus HD DVD. This battle may just be the most known format war since Betamax vs. VHS. Blu-Ray Discs are backed largely by Sony, Philips and Apple Computer (as well as many other well known companies), and HD-DVD by Toshiba and Microsoft. In 2006, players supporting HD-DVD or Blu-Ray were released. While these players are primarily for home theater computers, they do exist. Videogame consoles such as the Playstation 3 (Blu-Ray) and Xbox 360 (HD-DVD drive sold seperatly) provide next-generation DVD add-on technology. In January of 2007, LG announced the launch of a dual-format player capable of playing both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD content.'
The last comment on LG just came out a day or so ago. Which is great for both formats.
Something you may be interesting in.
The future for Ford vehicles, which Microsoft is now involved with, will offer all available formats to be plugged in to their new device. Which is way cool for any one who buys a Ford when this technology is incorporated. Good move on Microsoft's part to think of all the others and not just itself.
Personal preference may be the only option in the end.

Not an easy question... I like that Blu-ray holds more, but I hate Sony. Both need to improve their case designs: the colors tend to ruin the cover art, and the cases just look cheap (not in the literal sense) in general.

o rly? I'll have to test that on my roomates ps3. I know i can play a regular CD.
I heard that the press on the HD/DVD's is almost to the label, and the bluray is slightly, so rewritables might be better for bluray but not for hd/dvd.

Blu-Ray's hold 10GB more when comparing single layers. Unless price plays a roll, I don't see why this "war" isn't already over.
