Unless you're going to buy something with a wider lense, or you're prepared to use the manual function and hold it steady with a long exposure, then all you're gonna get are dark images like that when indoors.

I've got that one, I'm quite impressed with it and if you need a really slim camera, this is it.

I actually do want a slim one. There was a guy there that had one at the event and it took an amazing picture. How is the zoom? Zoom is going to be important.

However, if it's not slim but takes a really good picture, I'd be willing to consider. Size isn't a big deal really.

I saw this one on Best Buy's site but decided to check it on New Egg (since the discount is almost always close to New Egg's price), and I like what I see:

The zoom isn't bad, it's comparable to my old CyberShot which also had 3X zoom. It's not spectacular though, which I guess is expected from something so thin.

afaik, the Sx IS cameras are great, especially the optical zoom. Shocked I've seen some great pictures taken with it (although, I can't say in situations like yours but i'm sure it'd do well).
If you do buy this camera, try using flash and the various shooting modes (ie. indoors, etc). Of course, it'd be best if you go and try it out for yourself and some store. Smile

I got in touch with a girl that I know and she said to stop in and she'll show me the camera and a few others, so I'm going on in today to look. But if you think that it's a good camera, I definitely think it's the one I want.

I've had the S3 for a while now, and love it. I am very impressed by it, but yet have a chance to really use the manual options. I have been trying to learn them fast, but it's been really bad weather out.

I need to get a camera case to store it in, heh.

Glad to hear you chose a Canon! Sony and Kodak have no business making digital cameras, IMO.
