footprint on water

hi,
i want to create some footprint on water.could anyone plz tell me how i can do this?
i am new in photoshop

Start with a water pattern; Google's got a few decent ones to choose from.

Then create a new layer and draw a footprint in black (I used the footprint in Photoshop's built-in shapes, but a freehand would do just fine). Knock the fill opacity down a bit, then add a Bevel in the layer styles with the settings in the attached file.

:shrug: Turned out okay I guess. What do you think?
