Internet Explorer 7
Oh no.. nobody wants to talk about it. No one can admit Microsoft might've finally done something right.
I am somewhat frightened that I may soon switch to IE7. I've used it a great deal on our school's computers. It seems pretty solid and stable both, particularly at a time when Firefox has been crashing a bunch for me recently.
Personally, IE7 looks to be the browser to curtail a lot of the anti-IE sentiments. Much like the teething process with earlier incarnations of Windows, it took a few tries, but I can forgive. I'm all for good software.
So how bout it. Anyone taken the plunge yet? What do you think?

They haven't changed the rendering engine much since IE6. In terms of usability, it is just as impressive as Firefox, which isn't that impressive.

It's better but it doesn't have all the nice addons and a lot of the flexibility that I like so much with FF.

It still doesn't fix the auto overflow for a scrollbar when I use a bg img...

Personally, IE7 has a new GUI (plus a couple more features like tabbed browsing) and that's about it.
The right click menu is exactly the same. It's not easy to 'View Image' if you want to be taken directly to an image. The 'View Source' code is not syntax highlighted. And finally, the page rendering engine is almost exactly the same as in IE6; I've noticed that IE7 behaves exactly the same way with my sites as IE6 did. In fact, text is often fuzzier than it is in FF.
I'm sorry, but IE7 is teh sux.

I did read something about their decision to change the way they did their test back to truetype or something.
Would you care to provide some links so the rest of the community can actually see ringpull?

IE7 does render things differently. There were a few probelms in websites displaying correctly during the beta because of this, but now it seems to be ok. If I were you I would stick with firefox for xp but if you use Vista go with IE7 because it can run in protected mode which enhances security quite a lot.

On the novice side....I like them both. Both have their perks and quirks.
I haven't had a major problems with either one, yet.
I have reached a few pages that froze both browsers but that's not the browsers fault...hehehe Both handled the situations well.
I like the new, less bulky UI in IE 7, gives me more web page less tool bar.
And the tool bars are movable. I can find that in FF.
I didn't care too much for the fact that a few of the add-ons I want for IE7 cost bucks, so in that aspect Firefox rules.
Here's a list of what's new in IE7 for the tecky....lol

Does it have tabs?
I will not use it unless there are tabs.
