Either way, the auction was a great idea, certainly some kids deserve to get something like that, and it's a present with meaning behind it, rather than just buying because it's the expected thing to do.

I saw this elsewhere, it seems like a funny thing to do in the right circumstances... My situation is differant, I grew up without much money, so christmas was usually not as 'plentiful' as most. Although it gave me more value for what I had, I couldn't do something like that to a little kid. But like I said, I'm totally personalizing this situation, like it's my kid, and my kid wouldn't be spoiled... yet we're talking about a spoiled kid, so I don't know depends on the age of the kid in my opinion. On the other hand, spoiled rotton, the world owes me everything, I hate my dad because he wont buy me a mclarren f1 teenager, yes. =)
