First of all, very nice design. A few things I noticed... when I maximize my browser (Firefox 2.0 @ 1280x1024), there is a half inch gap, due to the layout content ending, it does not look intentional, so I have to assume it was not intentional. If I'm mistaken and it was intentional, consider closing off the footer smoother.
* A closer look shows that it is imageready generated HTML. So if this isn't the final page, just something to show the idea, then disregard the previous critique and the following...
Although it's more of a personal preference, the layout could be sliced and coded much more efficiently, as to reduce loading time. That is of course if this is the 'final' layout, and not just a sample.
On to other things, I think the navigation menu could definitely be improved, either with a nice texture, or by adding a little more eye candy to the cumbersome rectangles...
* On a personal note, I notice there is 5 menu selections, and to my knowledge, and according to the graphic above the menu, there are also 5 horizontal bars in a written musical piece (Sorry, I don't know anything about reading music). Thats definitely something to experiment with, give it a try, see what comes out.
... if you do decide to keep the menu items as they are, I would more than recommend rollover images.
By replacing the solid background colour with a texture of some sort (experiment with different styles to see which blends the best with your design) would add a lot of life to the design by doing very little work.
This looks like a last minute piece of eye candy, but the caption text reading "New CD - On Sale Now", does not blend at all with the design... mainly I think the red "On Sale Now" seems to be the biggest problem, it doesn't look good where it's placed in my opinion.
Overall, good work. I hope to see you dig up your paintbrush, and release more layouts. Thats about it, I hope my two cents helped out a little bit. Keep it up.
