Want to start a Database
I'm thinking about creating a website that has a database of albums atleast in the beginning, 100-200, I'm sure I'm going to need more. So I'm going to have a bunch of album with thier info like track listings and stuff and I want people to rate those albums.
Now I know html, I'm in college for graphic design. I've designed webpages and stuff but I've never got into the database thing.
I was just wandering if their was any software i can buy out their that will allow me to create a database easy. I don't know much about this so please go easy on me.

Um, your gunna need to know quite a bit more than html i'm afraid..
Your going to know a server side language that can connect to a database like php, asp or Ruby on Rails to name a few..
MySQL is a good free database which you should check out...
and as phpmonkey said, google is going to be one of your best resources!
good luck!

Ruby on Rails is not a language! It's not even close to a language! STOP RECOMMENDING IT AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO PHP, BECAUSE IT'S NOT.
I declare Harry and Jerome BITCHSLAPPED.
Grr.

Shut up.
Edit: I never said it was a language. It's a web development framework, which is what he asked for.

When someone says PHP, they pick one of the hundreds of frameworks available or make their own. People who use Ruby for web development use Rails nearly always. If PHP had a framework as relatively popular as Rails, people would do the same thing.
