drop down content area.

I'm currently working on building a flash web site and I'd like the content area to start from the top of a page and go all the way down to the bottom, like opening a scroll, except just a content area, nothing fancy, but all the ways I've tried thus far have failed.

do you mean that you want the flash file to be 100% height of the browser or you want the content area to be 100% height of the flash file?

I think he wants it to open up, like a scroll unrolling.

i'd say use a mask, and tween the mask down to reveal more of it,

like have your full size image, then have a mask over top of it, and shape tween the mask to get bigger, like this:

but not a motion tween, a shape tween.

you can have a motion tween of the 'bottom' of the image tween over the mask as well, so that image moves down as the mask moves down, so the mask would reveal the body, and the bottom would always stay at the bottom of the revealed area.

yeah kinda like that, except, can it be made so that it looks smooth w/o you seeing it go from frame to frame>?

When I've tried using this effect in the past, I always had to duplicate the image, and bring it down 5-10 pixels, per every 5-10 frames and then it would suddenly get to the bottom. But that is a really good idea. I'll try when I get home . ty much.
