I recently stumbled upon AbsoluteCross.com and thought it was a very impressive site, and have picked up a few new Photoshop tricks from the tutorials. I did have a question regarding the Tentacle Tubes, though.
I was wondering if there might be something that wasn't noted around Step 3 (or maybe I missed something that was in there) as it looks like the outside edges of the tentacle tubes in the image for step 3 are a little darker than the original color that was started out, yet I am unable to reproduce that without either changing to a different shade of the blue, or reduce the opacity of the original layer below the one I am working on.
If you would be so kind as to elaborate on that step and/or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Regards,
-James-

I know what you mean, hamyo. With all due respect to Robouk, what was the point of creating a new layer with the same blue colour and opacity as the tentacle layer?
I would have to go with your guess, though. The original tentacle layer is probably set on a lower opacity than the one following it.

Hello All
Hamyo and D-S are right. Something doesn't go smooth with the tentacle tubes.
I've been playing around with them and i didn't make them to look like in the tutorial. they look very flat.
Can you indicate (or correct the tutorial ?) PLEASE . it's a great effect that I (and many people) will love to learn .
Thank you and regards.
Best wishes Adrian

I was so excited to start doing this tutorial but when I got to step three I got really disappointed. The directions are unclear and my tentacles are flat
Please help!
