Photoshop 7 being odd?

Hey guys,

Well, at the moment, I'm 2 inches away from smashing Photoshop's face in =) Friendly fellow, ain't I? Well anyway, I made a new layer, and it started being weird, not allowing me to click anything ( as well as making that sound where you cant click something, doot doot,) Anyway, anyone know how to fix this? I'll be madd pissed if I cant fix it, got a few hours of unsaved work up >.>

Start from the basics: is the layer locked? Is the correct layer selected?

Save a temporary copy of the file, even if it is acting weird so that you don't lose your work.

No, I didnt have anything locked. Everything except the View, Windows and Help buttons / taskbar things were locked. It never happened before, dont know why it did either.
