Illustrator- Creating semi circle outline with rounded corners
Hi,
I have created a circle outline by drawing a circle and a smaller one, then deleting the overlap.
I then use a rectangle to overlap the circle to make it a semi circle.
How do i round the corners for this path?
Effects -> stylize -> round corners does not work.
attached image for reference.

1. Use the Pathfinder palette to actually cut the part that is hidden by the rectangle.
2. After that, use circles to create the rounded corners and again use the Pathfinder palette, but add the circles to the shape this time.

Here's a simple way of getting it done.
1. Make a circle with no fill, just an outline color.
2. Use the Scissors tool to open the patc and remove the unwanted anchor points.
3. Open the Strokes palette and set the Cap to Round.
4. Increase the weight of the stroke until it's as thick as you want it.
5. All you need to do now is to convert the stroke into an outline (Object>Path>Outline Stroke)

Goog thinking WebMachinist. That should work like a charm.
