___________________ I'm here, still... Don't know why but I just keep getting attracted back to this place. My computer is dead. I'm in my room (I'm using my brother's computer to post this) being dead and spending much of my time reading and sleeping. ___________________ There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live. I'm alive. I rarely ever visit Neverside anymore. Only on nights like this when I?m bored, caught up with all my feeds and drank way too much coffee to be able to fall asleep right now. I'm 2 weeks away from finishing up my junior year in college and seem to be going all the way across the country to Cali to do an internship at Yahoo as a web developer, which is surprisingly completely unrelated to my major (Finance). They haven't called me in a few days and I haven't been able to contact them, so I'm getting very nervous. I was already offered a job, but it's now pending format approval, ugh. After that, I got one more year and then it's the real world for which I CANNOT wait. I want a stable job, nice apartment and a nice car. I'm dating the love of my life (yeah cheesy, be quiet) and life is generally great. I DO design still, but rarely. Coding has taking over my interests really, especially with the big hype of Web 2.0. JavaScript dominates and intrigues me because of its power and combined with PHP, there's so much potential. This summer will be spent working on something comparable to Campfire, but better (using server-push technology instead of usual polling) and of course, more features. It's still just a hobby though, but who knows, maybe Yahoo will turn it into a full time career eventually. One of my latest projects for myself is a Photo Album. I wanted to play around with Yahoo YUI framework and also needed a photo album at the time. So this came about in a few days: http://dimitry.arthero.com/photo It's completely client-side w/o any flash of course. Only uses PHP to resize images, but can be easily coded out. Hope you enjoy. As to Neverside.. It's got potential, it always has, but the slow way things are implemented is what kills it. I actually was thinking of things I could do to improve this community the other day if I owned it Long post, but I never post, so it's well worth it. You can always contact me if interested: dimitryb@gmail.com for suggestions, feedback on Photo Album, etc. Peace, ___________________ Alive, but elsewhere
OMG IT'S A DINOSAUR! Dear Lord, Dimi, I haven't seen you in eons. Good to hear you're doing well. And yeah, Dave's still the owner. ___________________ people like dimitri make me motivated and inspired to do great things and be successful. I believe I've seen you post a few times on TF back in the day, but I never had the pleasure of meeting you. Hi my name is Chris, the starving web designer... ___________________
DIMI, Message me sometime, if that Internment cam... er intership doesn't work out, I may be able to work something out for you. -Jerome ___________________ Heh, Thanks Jerome! I'll definitely do that. I'm sending my stuff out to two firms in Seattle already, hoping to have a nice backup plan, but I know with my luck, I'll probably just end up doing landscaping third summer in the row. Wait.. Hawai? Guessing you moved :P ___________________ Alive, but elsewhere
