Logo

Hey, I am trying to make a dj logo, for a family member. but i kinda get stuck there..i have been trying many logos,,but none of them is very special...the name is very simple,,, DJ REMIX...but still i get stuck,
if any of u can help me or give me any ideas, or even tell me what will make it easy to make a logo,,,pls do help

to start off with, try looking at pictures of djs and look at their basic shape. The idea of a logo is to convey the message in as simple and memorable a shape as possible. When you land on a DJ 'move' that you seem to feel characterizes your site start drawing out his shape. Pen tool helps loads here. Pay attention to the picture's light and dark parts, as once you have a basic shape, you can go in again on a new layer and add light and dark 'blots.' These blots should be solid colors so imagine your image toned down in number of colours.

To aid you in this, you can (once you find a picture), open the pic in photoshop and go to filter>artistic>cutout and play with the sliders.

Alternatively, you can just run the filter and cut out the image, if you're looking for a cheap way to go.

in additon, your logo do not have to have flashy graphics and design. sometimes the simplest ones are the most effective ones. as long as the essence is there then it's gonna work, big time.
