It's pretty new, only about 6 months or so... Thanks a bunch! All I do is make sure not to overcharge the battery and don't OC anything (of course). The only things you'd probably have to worry about are the screen, keyboard, mouse, and motherboard, the built-in speakers, etc (since they're not exactly user-replaceable but I guess that can depend on your laptop). ___________________
The first thing that normally goes wrong is the battery starts to fade or die, i would just suggest using power saving mode and whatnot, but if you can just purchace a spare. ___________________ Lies Be gentle with your laptop, and depending on what type of battery you have, you might have to do different things (be more careful with charging, discharge completely every x months, etc). Remember though, computers die. ___________________ http://dmtfn.com - stay tuned kiddies.
I would use main as my power supply when ever I can and use surge protector as well. Am not sure about this but I thought the screen shudn't be exposed to strong sunlight also try and keep it as cool as possible, this means not resting in on a surface that would conform to the shape of the bottom usually (like say your lap?). ___________________ Back in the states. what you need to do is not leave it running when not using it, and the most important thing is when you place it on something; be carefull what you place it on, dont put it on carpet or anything that will block the ventillation at the bottom. If you want to put it o ncarpet you can buy special cooling for the underneath of laptops. Also, this may be commmon sense, but clean out your fan on the bottom every once in a while. And maybe open it up (CPU slot, RAM slot, etc) and clean out any dust there. ___________________

Monitor's and keyboards ARE replacable. It is not recommended but it is possible through some computer modifications. ___________________ Be weary of such traps as planned obsolescence and other suspicious and sneaky marketing tactics used by The Man. ___________________ irc.efnet.net #neverside
