DivX DVD Players
I don't know exactly how it works and was hoping for some clarification: can DivX DVD Players play movies off of CDs or do they have to be DVDs?
Basically, I have a huge stack of DivX movies in AVI format that I put on regualr CD-Rs to save space on my computer... would I be able to play them in a DivX DVD Player?

My DVD Player, (I beleive it is a Panasonic.. Could be wrong... (Yes Im too lazy to go check atm)) Plays DivX/Xvid/Everythingyoucanthrowatit. And it seems to play them fine, but for some reason there are a couple of skips on DivX if it is on a CD compared to it being on a DVD. All you can do is read alot of reviews, check them out in the store, ask questions etc. and hope you got a good one :P

I bought this for my girlfriend at the time. If I was actually smart about it I would have kept it for myself, because it played everything I tried.

Well, I went with this one and so far it has been very nice. I love how I can toss files onto a CD-R - music, pictures, video, etc - and then it puts them into a nice menu on the player, it's cool. Only two problems I've had so far: a couple of DivX movies that I have tried have had problems with the sound being ~a second off, and also I tried playing WMVs and they didn't show up, thus I couldn't play them. Other than that, it's been great. I would recommend the player to anyone looking for a cost effective DivX player - or any player for that matter.
