Need help with this certain graphic "cartoon" effect

I was wondering how the author created the graphic style of the bike, car, and lady w/ surfboard you will see while navigating through the links. He said he used "trace" available in Flash, but is this also possible in Photoshop? Thanks.

Pen tool in Illustrator or Photoshop would be your best bet. I'd suggest using Illustrator for this, instead of PS, if you have it.

How is illustrator better to use than photoshop when it comes to this?

Well, one could make the argument that Illustrator is more suited to this because it will create a vector image, rather than a raster image -- the pen tool in Photoshop creates vector paths, but since they are within a raster image I will consider them as such, though the paths themselves behave as vectors. However, not knowing your intentions for such drawings, it is impossible to tell if this is an appropriate comment.

Personally, I find the pen tool in Illustrator easier to use than Photoshop, as they do behave differently in terms of how anchor points can be moved, etc. -- this is only personal preference, however, and it would be up to you at this point as to which program to use.

You could use a technique similar to this :

Just dont go as far as he did to add all the detail.

The only reason I suggested Illustrator instead of Photoshop was because, as Kryptonite said, you can create a vector image. Of course Photoshop will work just as well!
