screen printing

well my friend owns a screen printing business and i had a company and made all the logos in photoshop and he said he needed them in vector format to be able to resize and stuff. well i have no time for that company and i'm thinking about starting a new one up. so to make a vector image i would only be able to use illustrator right? i couldn't use brushes in photoshop for it and export or something? also would i have to make the background transparent?

thanks.

The background is transparent by default in Illustrator. Yes you'll need to use illustrator or another vector based program (i.e. Freehand, Corel Draw, etc.), Photoshop is built for entirely different purposes.

unless u already made the thing u need in vector in photoshop u should start making the logos or whatever in illustrator from the begining, its stupid to do the same thing twice!

the tracetool is a lazy-mans-tool, it doesn't do as good job as if u would do it yourself so save that to the things that are too complex to do by hand unless u want to spend days working with it, but if u need it to look realy good, u'll have to do that by hand too. use the pen tool! the sooner u start using it the sooner u will master it, and be more sufficient in your work.
