New Apple Hardware

So the keynote has just ended. Check out their new computers!

iMac -- Same everything but the proc. who is a Intel Core Duo 2-3x faster than the G5

MacBook Pro -- The really want to get rid of the "Power" word. Now with a Intel Core Duo aswell, 4x faster than the G4

The rest of the systems are going to be upgraded eventually through the rest of 2006.

The new MacBook would be an absolutely sweet machine to have. Too bad I don't have any money for a new machine right now. Or anytime soon.

Waiting for the Intel PowerMacs.

Now those will be awesome.

If the Macbook was under $1300 I'd buy it, but for $2000 -- no. They'll get cheaper and the Intel "iBook" (or whatever weird name they end up calling it) might be what I purchase.

Someone at Digg made a good point about the pricing though. Right now they still offer the iBook G4 and the Powerbook G4. If they would have introduced an Intelbook lower than $1000 it would completely remove sales for iBooks and Powerbooks. It will come, eventually.

You will never need a computer that fast, there really are no applications that can use that much speed effectivly. I see no reason to buy one any time soon.

Bill gates said the same thing like 20 years ago. And graphics/video editing work takes a lot of speed.
