Yeah. Idiots stealing electronics and stuff. Sheer stupidity.
IM FROM CT! Does anyone know of any high-res photos of the damage? The pastor at my church wants to show them to everyone this coming sunday, to get people to understand what's happening there. ___________________ -- Dave
It's really sad and horrible that there are ~1000+ people at the New Orleans Convention Center stranded with no water or food. They've been there for 4 days I think. The government doesn't seem to even care or know. On NPR, the reporter was interviewing on of the big honchos of Homeland Security and he didn't even know there were people there! ___________________ irc.efnet.net #neverside
Yes James, the Government doesn't know or doesn't care? First thing is first, it is one thing for the people who are stranded to be absolutely frustrated... Why? Because they are living through it and probably have no idea what is going on and there are a lot of miscommunications I am sure. So for them to be angry, upset, frustrated... that is understandable. We, on the other hand, why should we be upset with the people trying to help. The Government is not saying, oh well... whatever. They are working hard to figure out what is basically Venice Italy (without the structure built to be that way). Unlike most other cities, New Orleans just happens to act like a bowl. Water comes in, but does not easily go out. So unlike most other rescue operations, we can't just drive in aid. We have to fly it in. The people down there that get panicked also make the situation worse. I know that is not really their fault, but help comes, someone starts shooting, or panicking and next thing you know you have a riot on your hands, all of which do not help rescue efforts. I would like to see how you would do things different. I am sure we could all do a better job then the people down there actually trying it... of course, we will be able to Monday Morning Quarterback this thing to death after the fact, but while its happening we have no idea what obstacles the rescue efforts are coming upon. This is something you can't plan 100% for. You can ready teams of people to know what to do in that situation, but when the situation actually happens... you can throw that book right out the window because all the training in the world only takes you so far as there are too many variables working that WILL disrupt the rescue efforts and make it look like there is confusion in the system (which under the circumstances, can you blame anyone for that?) ___________________ Neversidian Editor just had to share this stupidity thats 30,000 people in the dome and theyre moving them out slowly but surely. ___________________
