How the hell can I do this???

Hi fellows. I have a challenging question in mind and I have had it for more than 3-4 years. I can use photoshop and PSP quite competently or at least I can handle with my expectations...I mean I could until I had came across with this kind of effect on some images. I am sending you a sample picture which is rendered, filtered (or whatever it is, I don't know the technique and its name and that's the question) with a pastel skin like effect. I have seen many images filtered with this effect but I dont know what its name is or how it is done. If is there anyone who knows what this is and how it is done please share it with me. Thanks for the help.

i doubt theres any photoshop work in that. looks like nothing more than a digital photo. and that pastel type thing you think your seeing is just there becuase of where the image was tooken.

Hello coolaid. Thank you for giving your time. You may be right my friend but I still insist on my idea. What makes me think like that is the reason that this picture was taken with a nikon D70 and when you look into the picture closer (at about %200 ) you can see that the details are easily easily visible ont the borders while the inner surfaces are less detailed. But actually a picture taken with this camera should have more details.And also when you resize it the image wont pixelate as much as another image in same dimensions. So I still think there must be some kind of photo manipulation in the image. Thanks for your interest my friend.

Image quality can be lowered and pixelation depends on the program that was used to crop the image. Probably just a really good picture.

Thanks for all replies fellows. Jack I couldn't ask the owner because he said he took the picture but it was his friends who made the photo manipulations instead of him. Rabbitlab yea you could be right friend but I still have some doubts (sorry for being that much stubborn)I'll keep on searching and if I find anything I will inform you here. Thanks again.

well it looks like a really sharp photo to me too. no photo manipulations that i could tell.
try a photo forum or have a look at http://www.photosig.com/
they have some excellent info there.

I'd bet it's just the D70.

it can be any slr or d-slr.. why does it have to be a D70?

and im not quite sure by which effect you are talking about.. are you just referring to the depth of field?
