Summer has come and past....
Oh snap. Haven't been here in three weeks (I was too busy running from mall cops and getting mugged in Niagara Falls). Been camping out in my friend Tim's basement for the last little while, he had this tennis thing for a week and I went with him. The sport's pretty fun actually. So the first two weeks are pretty bland, just skating around every day. Last week, we go to a bunch of places (Toronto, etc, etc) and on Thursday, we make the two hour drive to Niagara Falls, Canada. We live in Kitchener Canada, a smallish city. So anyways, we get there, check in at the hotel, and go across the border to the U.S. We stay at Media Play (any of you americans heard of it? i've never seen it north of the border before... it's so cool. Books, games, music, guitairs, and awesome band merchandise all in one place) for HOURS because we couldn't find the branch bank so we can get some currency withdrawn. By the time we find it, it's like 4 o clock and too late to go to our destination, Buffalo, so we drive around Niagara, U.S.A (not the falls, the city around it) and we find the giant outlet mall with a Zumiez inside it (skateshop... none in Canada, but always read about them in skate magazines)... bought some cheap-*** parts and clothing for about HALF the cost it is in Canada. Holy crap, I'm never buying anything back home ever again. Anyways, back to the story, I convince Tim to start skateboarding and that I'll teach him, so he buys a basic one, for about 120 USD. He skates all day and we have a lot of fun. At night, back in Canada, we go to Cliffton Hill (major tourist attraction, lots of games and stuff). We bring our boards and at about 1 in the morning two a-holes (I dunno if such explict content is allowed on here.... so i have to censor myself) come up and snatch Tim's new board. We chase them up the hill while Tim swears and tourists and staring at us. Eventually the guys got away (they were like our age, maybe a bit older, no more than 16) because they must've been locales and they kept ducking into alleys. Sucks, too, because I could've caught them (they weren't that fast) and I felt guilty because I encouraged Tim to buy the board in the first place and mine didn't get taken cause it's old. Oh well, sith happens, I guess.
Yea, I know that was long-winding (partially because I can't resist the urge to put extra comments in brackets), but wondering how people here are doing. Any major developments in NS lately?
Also, need some recommendations of some good punk rock, maybe some metal. I've been music starved for three weeks.
