Font installation

Okay so I just downloaded a bunch of fonts, extracted into my Windows/Fonts folder like always...opened and viewed then as always. But when I went to use them in Photoshop/Word they didn't appear. I rinsed and repeated a couple times...restarted my comp etc and tried again= nothing.

Anyone have any idea why my new fonts hate me so much?

You have to drag them into the explorer window and then you'll get this little "installing fonts" dialogue, which means that you'll have to extract them somewhere else.

You can also install fonts by going to the Control Panel > Fonts > File > Install New Font.

where'd you get the fonts?

fonts have to be installed via the control panel. as stated above

you don't have to use the control panel, as it links to the same folder anyway.

Yeah, the Fonts link in the Control Panel takes you to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

If you wanted to, you could to go My Computer > C: > WINDOWS > Fonts
